The Hypocrisy of APC and the Ganduje Lesson: A Call to National Vigilance
By Bolaji O. Akinyemi
There comes a time in the life of a nation when silence becomes betrayal. That time is now!
As Nigerians, our fate can no longer be left in the hands of a party that has not only lost its moral compass but has turned hypocrisy into an ideology!
The All Progressives Congress (APC), led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has not just failed to govern with integrity—it has transformed itself into a sanctuary for corruption, a stronghold for compromised characters, and a mirror of everything it once claimed to fight against.
The latest chapter in this national embarrassment is the case of Abdullahi Ganduje, The former Governor of Kano State, long accused of collecting bribes in dollar—caught on camera stuffing wads of foreign currency into his robe—remains untouched by our security agencies for years!
The DSS, in a display of selective amnesia, suddenly regained its memory only after Ganduje resigned from APC and his name appeared in coalition talks ahead of 2027!
Was APC a protective umbrella shielding him from justice?
Is this the model of governance the President is leading—a party that shelters corruption and punishes only the politically uncompromising ones?
If the DSS had credible evidence all along, why did they wait until Ganduje was no longer politically useful to act? The message is clear: APC has not built a nation, it has built a hideout—for looters, for betrayers of public trust, for men who see public office as a private estate!
Let us call a spade by its true name: APC has become a refuge for rogues!
It is not just Ganduje. The list of alleged corruption figures presently shielded within the APC is damning:
Orji Uzor Kalu, convicted for stealing ₦7.1 billion as Governor of Abia State, now free and politically active!
Godswill Akpabio, sits at the National Assembly as the Senate President, linked to unresolved allegations of mismanagement of funds in the Niger Delta Ministry. That would not happen if ours is a Nation with conscience!
Abdullahi Adamu, APC’s former chairman, left office amid allegations of financial misappropriation!
Hope Uzodinma, once declared wanted by EFCC over a ₦12 billion contract scam is today the Executive Governor of Imo State. He hosted his fellow alleged looting party colleague to a state honour where Ganduje commissioned roads in Imo State, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Specifically of interest is the 3.4 kilometer DSS interchange road in Owerri, which was renamed Abdullahi Ganduje Drive!
Driving on that road is now a painful reminder of what APC has reduced Nigeria to!
What a traumatic experience for DSS officers who have to drive daily to work on the road named after a criminal they couldn’t go after because he was a member of APC!
If you are in doubt of my assertions, let’s welcome Ifeanyi Okowa, former Delta State Governor together into the APC.
Okowa was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged diversion of N1.3 trillion in state funds and N40 billion meant for acquiring shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas.
He was detained in Port Harcourt before being released on bail after meeting conditions, including surrendering his international passport.
Okowa defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid the EFCC probe, sparking criticism from Nigerians who accused him of attempting to avoid investigation.
His defection drew mixed reactions, with some defending his legacy and others condemning his actions. The truth is, Okowa will remain untouchable like Ganduje by all Agencies of Government, except he dares to leave the APC!
These names represent a troubling pattern!
They point to a party that has institutionalized impunity and normalized betrayal of public trust!
APC is not fighting corruption—it is fattening it, dressing it in agbada, and presenting it to Nigerians with a forced smile!
But Nigerians must not be deceived any longer.
2027 must not be about just another election. It must be about a rejection!
A rejection of deceitful political organizations, of empty manifestos, of leaders who pretend to fight corruption while feeding from its table!
Let us be clear; the problem of Nigeria is not just the economy, It is not even insecurity alone, It is threefold:
- A Corrupted Constitution—wired from the beginning to centralize power and reward mediocrity!
- Corrupt Characters—men and women in power who lack the values necessary to lead with integrity!
- A Corrupt System—designed to serve the elite and punish the poor!
Our healing as a nation will begin the day we surgically remove the viruses corrupting our constitution!
When we flush out the characters whose lives are testimonies of fraud, our institutions will start working again!
We will not need to fix the system—it will fix itself, naturally, once those who abuse it are removed!
And so we must ask; What does APC stand for today?
Not progress. Not integrity. Not service.
It stands for shielding the guilty, weaponizing injustice, and using power not to build, but to preserve their circle of impunity!
The future of Nigeria cannot be built on lies. Political parties are reflections of their vision for a nation!
Candidates are reflections of the character they intend to model for generations!
If we do not act now by speaking up, organizing, resisting, and voting with values, we will be complicit in our own national suffocation.
Let the public rise! Let the youth awaken! Let the churches, mosques, marketplaces and universities become centres of vigilance.
APC must not be allowed to rewrite our future with the ink of hypocrisy!
Let 2027 be the beginning of a new creed in Nigerian politics:
No more corrupt parties, no more corrupt candidates, and no more compromises.
Our silence today is the soil in which tomorrow’s oppression will grow!
But our voice, clear, firm, and united, can uproot the weeds of hypocrisy that have overgrown our tills and toils for democracy!

Whether APC PDP or LP,let there be end to democracy in Nigeria. It has not worked and it will never worked. Democracy is a game ,a government of the privileged few by the few and for the few. Even in America it is not working. See the fight between Trump and his erstwhile benefactor -Elon Musk? Each of them is fighting for his empires.
Same is happening here. Democracy is a government of the corrupt people.
Democracy is a game of money bags and numbers and in the course of increasing numbers, all rogues and thieves are welcome. That’s is the only way to fortified the political fold.
Even the current president, how could he have ammased so much wealth to be able to fund APC, defeat then then PDP, enthroned Buhari as president and some governors which ultimately gave him the courage to say “Emilokan” if not because he had stolen enough while he was a governor?
See sir we longed for democracy and for almost 30 yrs,we have seen it is nothing but glutocracy and heart aches.
Democracy can’t work, forget about what party is on power. Let us go back to the era of the military. Orisa bo Le gbemi se mi bi o ti ba mi. Toto sebi owe o eyin agba.
