Tithe of Time at Camp Judah.
By Bolaji O. Akinyemi
There are 365 days in a year, except for leap years, like 2024 which days are 366.
If we are to pay tithe for our time, 36 days and 12 hours would be payment for each year while 36 days, 14hours and 40 mins the payment for the leap year!
What am I driving at?
I was invited to what I will term a kingdom lifestyle camp meeting February last year at Camp Judah, Igbesa Ogun State. I set out with the little description passed from Bro Afolabi to my daughter Shiloh! Navigating through the deplorable road of Lagos-Abeokuta Express road to connect Idiroko road and vying toward Agbara at Iyana Lusada, a road that has been under construction for God knows how long. Our road development trademark is to have a road that could be done in 2 years tied down to 20 years often with the intention of using it to campaign and win 5 elections every 4 years, may God help our politicians.
Plummet Mission is a kingdom family that promotes brotherhood and stewardship. Service to one another therefore gives no place to title.
Bro Afolabi is one of our amiable young teachers amidst kingdom remnant of Believers striving to keep to “Biblelife” while upholding the faith of God in Christ. I stumbled on this family in my search for true kingdom love and worship in the middle of 2021. Captivated by what my encounter and experience has been with them, I was sure of love and fellowship taken to a deeper level if I made it to the camp!
I am not new to camp meetings, but the experience at Camp Judah will be! Joining the leaders who were in camp since the last week of January from the first day of February to the last day of February, one whole month for me and not less than 36 days for them, was for me a leadership concept of tithe of time!
2023 camp was tagged: Wholeness In Oneness and Meditation. It was an informing and therapeutic sessions for the total man; spirit, soul and body! Not a single aspect of human wellness was left out. Nutrition and exercises to keep the body in top performance form. Studying and teaching fed our minds and praying and meditation took care of our spirit man.
The soul (mind), the seat of intellect, will, emotion, imagination and thoughts as always, is the conduit through which the life of our regenerated spirit flows through and which life generally will respond to!
Rom 12:2 KJV:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It was like tithing my year to get rid of the devourer in the tripartite nature of my being. I am a testimony of a transformed life. I left the camp better than I went!
3Jn 1vs2 KJV:
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Our body’s health and soundness of mind in a renewed spirit determines our well being. Whatever is not of faith is sin!
More than the consequences of what we regard as “great sins” are the deadly effect of “lesser sins” of eating and doing things against our body!
At the camp, Campers usually will start the day with aerobics. A session not run by muscle amassing quacks who have led many to their early graves in the name of fitness. The wellness coach was none other than Dr Jack of Jack Wellness Centre Ijebu Ode, a 74 year old horse in fitness, full of energy that Victor Osimhen will marvel at his performance level, Dr Jack holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology and Performance Management. The father of karate in Nigeria is a black belt holder at the 10th grade, a fitness consultant with about 40 years and a demonstrated history of working in health, wellness and fitness. Dr Jack was such a massive blessing!
The amazement of the camp wasn’t revealed until I met Baba Aladiran an over 70 year old man, who through the new life in Christ and discipline of wellness, though, confirmed a sickle cell at an early age in Nigeria and will later be issued an health card by the British government to that effect later in life. Baba is not left out of the exercises sessions. He can’t even remember the last time he had a sickle cell crisis!
The camp is convened under the Apostolic and Prophetic leadership of Dr John AdejoroOluwa Igbalayemi, a figure everyone calls Daddy, not Daddy G.O, but Daddy.
Dr John Adejoro-Oluwa, renounced the title: ‘Reverend’ many years ago based on his understanding of,
Psa 111:9 (KJV) He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
The word “Reverend” is the word ya^re^’, phonetic: yaw-ray, meaning to fear, revere, be afraid, to stand in awe of, having capacity to cause astonishment and awe. These to him are decorative attributes deserving by Elohim alone.
The ministry of Plummet Mission is not tailored after the regular church pattern. Faith life is founded at the Home Church to which members belong. February camping provides a platform of fellowship for all members, particularly the leaders globally. I met and made new friends with brethren from South Africa, Kenya and Ghana. The platform birthed my trip to the Holy Land!
Daddy, as we fondly call him is a down to heart believer, graciously equipped for the vision, yet humble enough to accommodate a critical mind like mine. The first thing to get on the wrong side of my “formed” mind was meditation, which till then was a practice in oriental worship by my understanding. I took Daddy up on it privately and unlike the usual Nigeria General Overseers, he listened to me and wanted me to share my little knowledge with the brethren on the subject. I declined, for his humility, I reasoned “if they have a secret to conceal will they ask me to come share my light”. I opted to learn and know this family of God. New light shed on my mind, now looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of my faith. Christ is the focus of my meditation, I have grown in fellowship with Christ and the person of the Holy Spirit!
I got inducted into the world of corporate business and was mentored in Agribusinesses by Professor Adara, thrown at me was a huge investment opportunity in Energy and Innovation. There is a place where the next generation’s billionaires are being grown, away from the inordinate desire for Mammon.
February 2024 camp meeting will be starting officially tomorrow the 1st of February 2025 for leaders of the mission. Open session for public participation will begin on Thursday the 15th February 2024. My diaries are closed for the whole of February 2024. I want to encourage you to do the same, your business and other interests can only get better after the camp.
Let me confess, I got out of camp a couple of times, February was a critical month to our 2023 general elections. I was out to hold meetings with politicians and political parties who understood the need to network with Nation Builders like myself.
But bet it I will run February 2024 on the Sabbath principle, like Sister Oge Neliaku said to me in one of my many visit to her home, “we have learnt to live in His rest and operates from the place of REST. I now live and make my move from the place of rest in Christ. One word best describe camp Judah; Eden!
How to live in Christ’s rest in the midst of trouble is the purpose of this writing and I bet every Nigerian needs it, particularly those in leadership, public, corporate and ministry. My invitation to you is to come and experience the flip of beautiful and better Life of health and prosperity in spirituality. All it will cost you is a token and the tithe of your year not in money but of days of deserving rest that your body, soul and spirit deserve to rejuvenate to serve God and humanity better!
Nothing of value should be gotten for free. Igbesa 2023 was a tremendous value adding days to me and I believe is same for most participants.
